Co-host of The Crush with Lee & Tiffany, Tiffany Lakosky grew up fishing with her father in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, but her family didn’t hunt. Then, she met Lee Lakosky, a longtime bow fanatic and whitetail hunter, also from Columbia Heights.

“At the time, I was a flight attendant,” she recalled. “I always told Lee that he totally dated me because he got free flights! We traveled constantly.”

As their relationship grew, Tiffany said “bowhunting happened organically.”

Lee worked at an archery shop, and she often hung out there. When Lee traveled to bowhunt, she often flew wherever he was to see him. “One day, Lee asked if I’d like to try shooting a bow,” she remembered. “I jumped at the chance.”

Tiffany shot 3-D archery with Lee for two years before he finally popped the question: “Do you want to try bowhunting?” Having already watched Lee arrow several animals, Tiffany agreed, but said she wasn’t sure she “could actually kill a deer.” Lee understood and said, “If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.”

Like it was meant to be, her intro to bowhunting was a great experience. “We soon went hunting in Minnesota and had three bucks come out,” she said. “I held my composure and made a great shot. I’ve been hooked ever since.”

Now, many big bucks and 14 years of marriage later, Tiffany’s enthusiasm for bowhunting hasn’t faded.

“Even now as I’m watching show proofs for the next season of The Crush, I’m getting pumped for October here in Iowa,” she said. “I don’t burn out because neither Lee nor our producers pressure me into shooting an animal just to make a show.”

Tiffany has many bowhunting accomplishments to her credit, but her fondest are her back-to-back 180-class bucks arrowed in 2015 and 2016.

“For me, that’s hard to beat,” she said. “I’ve double-lunged two mule deer from 64 yards and an antelope from 82. I practice and practice and practice, and it really pays off.”

Lakosky said women are often scared to try bowhunting, but they shouldn’t be.

“Most women don’t realize how much fun it is, and they think it’s a guy’s-only club. It’s often misconceived as boring and uncomfortable. My mom is a prime example. She had no idea until she tried it.”

With a 2-year-old son, Cameron, and a newborn girl who recently arrived, Lee and Tiffany now must balance the demands of business and family life.

“This industry is so accommodating,” she said. “Granted, sometimes when we pull up I imagine people think, ‘Oh my gosh, here come the Beverly Hillbillies!’ because we have dogs, cameras, children, my mother, cameramen, etc. But seriously, I love what I do and the flexibility I have.”

Lee and Tiffany Lakosky are still sweethearts.

“Being with Lee makes me a better person,” she said. “We truly are best friends. One of the main reasons our show is so successful is Lee’s work ethic. He just doesn’t stop.”
