The New ARC 300 Rifle from DoubleStar

ARC300

Designed as a “go anywhere” hunting gun, the new ARC 300 from DoubleStar is a 300 BLK rifle that is built to be light and tough.  ARC stands for Always Ready Carbine, and it appears to be a good choice for home defense in addition to bagging Bambi.

As with the existing ARC rifles, this is a direct impingement style gun. DoubleStar designed the gun to run both supersonic and subsonic rounds reliably, both suppressed and unsuppressed. I’ve run into a 300 BLK rifle that would not cycle subsonic rounds, so I appreciate the company taking the time to make sure this one will run any factory ammo.

While suppressed hunting has been legalized in more states than ever before, adding a can to cut the noise is very appealing for home defense purposes as well.

The 16” barrel has a low profile block and uses a pistol length gas system. A Big Timber Brake is mounted on the end of the barrel. Threading is 5/8″x24 for a direct attach suppressor.

DoubleStar chose a Samson 15” SX rail with M-LOK attachment points for the ARC 300. The stock is a Mortar Plate with a standard adjustable included. With an unloaded 30-round magazine, the gun weighs in at 6.7 pounds. Samson manual flip up sights are included with the gun. The MSRP is $1,370.99.
