A Bill to Regulate the Practice of Hunting Deer with Dogs Stall, But the Contentious Debate Continues
More than eighteen thousand deer were taken across the state in the 201617 season by hunters using hounds. That’s less than 10 percent of the two hundred thousand killed statewide, according to the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, but the practice has an intense following, particularly in eastern North Carolina.
