Left Handed Ruger Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor

One of the benefits of an extended pause in panic buying by the shooting public is that it allows companies to offer a broader range of products instead of focusing just on the biggest sellers. For example, in recent months we’ve seen the introductions of the Series 70 Competition Pistol from Colt and Safariland offer new versions of its GLS line of holsters. Some might even suggest that to survive a more normal market companies will have to expand product lines to meet the needs of a wider range of buyers.

Regardless of the market forces that may be in play, Sturm, Ruger & Co. has shown a willingness to expand its catalog to offer more calibers and variants of existing platforms. One of the latest examples is the American Rifle Predator chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and set up with a left handed bolt.

Like the existing Predator guns, this one is set up in a traditional hunting configuration with a number of modern advancements. The stock is synthetic for light weight and weather resistance. Both the pistol grip and fore end areas are ridged for an improved grip. On the end is a soft rubber pad for recoil attenuation.

The bolt is a one piece design with a 70˚ throw. It should provide good scope clearance. On top is a scope rail for adding glass with a minimum of fuss.

Ruger includes its Marksman Adjustable trigger on this rifle. It is user adjustable from 3 to 5 pounds.

Ruger uses a 22″ heavier tapered barrel with a 1:8″ twist. The barrel is cold hammer forged with a matte black finish. It is threaded (5/8″-24) and comes with a protector.

These new guns have a suggested retail price of $569. This gives it a $40 premium over the standard right handed bolt version.
