Are you expecting? Then today’s post is for you! Let’s look at the details of the maternity version of the Givre dress/tee, designed to follow you all along your pregnancy.

At the start of my pregnancy I had great plans to create my maternity wardrobe. However, as time passed, I realized the projects I had in mind were not adapted to my changing body. That’s when I decided to create Givre, a comfortable pattern made for the day-to-day life of mommies-to-be.

Designed for stretchy knits, Givre adapts to the unique body of each pregnant woman (whether you gained three cup sizes right away or you kept your hourglass figure well into the second trimester). Flattering, it showcases your new curves and creates a modern and dynamic silhouette. A piece of advice: pick a really soft fabric to take care of your skin’s newfound sensitivity!

Givre adapts to your belly size

One of my main issues with off-the-rack maternity clothes was to pick my size: either you have to buy a garment that fits at month 5, but that won’t be able to cover your bump by the end of the pregnancy, or you have to spend long months in clothes that are too big… this is why the Givre pattern contains two belly sizes for each variation! Go with the 3-6 months size when your baby bump starts showing up, and switch to the 6-9 months size to ease into the last months of your pregnancy.

Givre works for all seasons

9 months is a long time! Since there’s a good chance you’ll go through several seasons, Givre is available in two variations: 3/4 sleeves and sleeveless. You can even adapt the pattern to make a short-sleeved version! Pick your fabric according to the season: cotton and wool jersey for winter, rayon and bamboo jersey for summer… And don’t forget that your fabric absolutely needs to contain elastane and have at least 50% stretch to get a good fit and proper recovery!
