New TACCOM Muzzle Device for SIG MPX Carbines

TACCOM has introduced a new muzzle brake/muzzle rise compensator for SIG MPX Carbines. It is designed to replace the stock birdcage style muzzle device. Once installed, pinned and welded, the TACCOM muzzle brake will retain the 16″ barrel length of the SIG MPX Carbine to still qualify it as a rifle (not converting it into an SBR).

Although the TACCOM muzzle device is made of steel and is a fairly large one, it is pretty lightweight weighing only 2.8 ounces. According to the manufacturer, despite it is designed specifically for the 9x19mm SIG MPX Carbine, it can be used with .308 Winchester or .300 Blackout cartridges, too. It has a standard 5/8-24 thread pitch. I assume, it can be used with many other smaller-than-9mm calibers with the mentioned muzzle thread pitch, but the company only specifies the .308 Win and .300 Blackout.

The overall length of the TACCOM muzzle brake is 3.125″. It comes with a black nitride finish. It is available through the manufacturer’s website at an MSRP of $69.95.

Earlier SIG designed a pinned and welded muzzle device which looked like a suppressor baffle stack. ATF ruled it as a suppressor although without a shroud it couldn’t decrease the report of the firearm. If you want to learn more about that story, click here, here and here.
