German GunWorks’ exceptional G29 VIPER Project – Haenel RS9 in .338 LM

I really want to Ceracote some of my rifles, but I lack the courage to commit and I keep changing my mind in terms of which rifle to start with and which pattern to paint it in. Too many choices, too difficult to back off the wrong choice and of course, the cost of the project itself has refrained me from ordering.

And I’ve been too busy buying the actual rifles themselves for a while. And I’m not going to do a rattle can quick and dirty job. Perhaps a (black) multicam for my HK MR223 first?

High quality projects like this German GunWorks‘ G29 VIPER gives me inspiration, and hopefully for you as well.

Thanks to German GunWorks we have permission to use their pictures.

In short, they’ve taken a Haenel RS9 in .338 Lapua Magnum and put lots and lots of high-end components onto the system. Now they’re in a painting process, and currently they are in the second stage. There are two more layers of paint to be added, but you can already spot the direction this is taking.

German GunWorks have been using FS Field Drab (basic color brown) and FS Brown Sand, the first camouflage pattern in sand.

So far there are parts from these suppliers included in the project.

There’s also a lot of Spuhr mounts and part on this G29.

Spuhr Picatinny
Spuhr Aimpoint interface
Spuhr adapter (2x)
Spuhr ACS QD Adapter

and an Aimpoint Micro T2

Below, notice the Spuhr 20,6 MOA mount.

German Gunworks are in Germany, believe it or not, so the links are either directly to them or to the European supplier or partner.

I’m missing a suppressor, perhaps on from ASE Utra (Finland) or B&T (Switzerland).

Are you missing any parts on this system that you would like to see?

I’m really looking forward to the end result. We’ll let you know as soon as we have the next update.

Thanks to German GunWorks and Vegaoptics for letting us use the pictures.
