Wilson Combat’s New Beretta 92G Centurion Tactical

Beretta

Wilson Combat is well known for building 1911 style pistols. In recent times, the company has moved into working with the Beretta 92 series of handguns. It’s newest offering is from that series.

The new 92G Centurion Tactical is a semi-custom pistol that is designed by Wilson Combat to be an “everyday carry” 9mm self defense handgun. Wilson Combat uses its Brigadier Tactical enhanced frame with a 4.25″ long Centurion slide. According to the company, this makes for an ideally sized carry gun. This gun is similar, but not the same, as the 92G Special Edition that Wilson Combat did in 2014.

As with standard Beretta pistols the G designates that this is a decocker only pistol (no thumb safety.) So, it operates like a standard SIG SAUER P220/226 handgun, though I find the slide mounted decocker harder to manipulate than the frame mounted versions found on the SIG pistols.

Wilson Combat uses a match grade barrel made of stainless steel. It has a recessed target crown. The guide rod is a Wilson Combat part made of steel with fluting. Mounted on the slide is an Ameriglo Hackathorn tritium front sight with a Wilson Combat black battlesight rear.

Additional features include:

  • two 17- and one 20-round magazines
  • oversized magazine release
  • Ultra Thin G-10 grips
  • accessory rail
  • skeltonized hammer
  • steel parts including the decocker, magazine release and trigger
  • bevelled magazine well

If you like this gun for competition, Wilson Combat advises the gun is IDPA Stock Service Pistol and USPSA Production Division approved. The MSRP is $1,250.
