[Milipol 2017] FN Herstal unveils FN 509 Pistol for Security Forces

Last week we had “FN Friday” with the new FN SCAR Subcompact Carbine.

FN Herstal are using the Milipol 2017 exhibition to release another Portable Firearm, this time a pistol with focus on Security Forces.

The FN 509 is a full-sized Striker pistol. The FN 509’s slide and grip feature highly effective non-slip surfaces; magazine catch, slide release and safety catch, which are fully ambidextrous, and include interchangeable backstraps adapted to all hand sizes.

From the FN Herstal Press Release:

“At 188mm (7.4in) and approx. 753g (1.66lbs) with a barrel length of 101.6mm (4in), the FN 509 is comfortable to shoot, reliable, and accurate, having a fixed 3-dot luminescent sight that provides fast target acquisition even in low light conditions. The FN 509 also features a tactile and visible loaded chamber indicator and a 17-round capacity magazine (bring the weight to 957g/2.10 bs) allowing for visual instant ammo check.

You can find the new FN 509 at FN’s booth at Milipol Paris 2017, but I suspect the new baby-SCAR will get all of the attention.

You can also find the new IWI Masada pistol at Milipol, as TFB reported about earlier.
