North American Arms recently announced on its website that the company hopes to begin shipping the Ranger II revolver in December.

In October, the company began taking pre-orders for the gun. North American Arms allocated 250 Ranger II revolvers for this “early bird” program. Of these, 125 would go to individual pre-order customers while the balance would be sent to the company’s preferred distributors. At that time, the company stated it hoped to have production up to 100 units each week by November.

In November, the company stated that it had cut off early bird orders (due to demand exceeding supply) and it hoped to have the first Ranger II revolvers delivered in early December.

If you are not familiar with the gun, the Ranger II is a break-top revolver chambered for the .22 WMR (aka .22 Magnum.) Empty cases eject automatically as the barrel opens.

The first guns will have a 1.625″ barrel. Future models may include barrel lengths of 2.5″ and 4″. The guns will have cylinder conversions available for them so you can swap out and shoot .22 LR ammo if you prefer.

Guns will come with rosewood grips and other North American Arms grips will also fit these diminutive wheelguns. Currently, the suggested retail price is set at $479 with the conversion cylinders costing an additional $75 more.
